I have never been a huge perfume person, except for a few body mists from when I was a tween and the occasional birthday present. Still, I have always like spraying samples on myself whenever I am in a beauty store, or in department stores like Macy's. I just couldn't justify dropping a ton for a little bottle (yet I hoard eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks I eventually toss aside)...I was influenced by Kay from Shoes and Glitter and Emma from Wellemma, both of whom have enviable fragrance collections (I think Kay has almost 200!). Well, I bought my first perfume on my own accord, the Roses de Chloé and I wear it almost everyday. I've gone on the scented bandwagon, and I have actually saved a ton of fragrances under my loves and favorites list from Ulta and Sephora. I am also on the hunt for the perfect wedding signature scent: It's a bit of a challenge because I love floral yet earthy and warm scents, our wedding well be right at the tip of when Spring starts, and our ceremony will be at an Episcopal (Anglican) church following a reception at a 1920's inspired 4-star hotel. That's a lot of juxtapositions if you ask me!
So, which scents have been saved under my wish lists?
CLEAN Warm Cotton Eau de Parfum: Though it has glowing reviews, quite a handful of people are turned off by this because of the smell of laundry detergent. Well, I am here to tell you that I LOVE the smell of powdered laundry detergent, powdered Oxyclean, and Huggie Fabric softener! I know I'm weird, but it is an incentive for me to do laundry, even though we use liquid laundry detergent and that scent is too weak for me. It does have citrusy notes like orange flower along with floral and woodsy ones like verbena, musk, and amber. I don't know when, but someday I WILL get my hands on this.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black: This is described as a blend of masculine and feminine scents. Perfect for me because I love the smell of men's cologne too. Yes, I am getting weirder I guess. The sweetness of violet and vanilla balances out the strong, rich sandalwood though.
Givenchy Dahlia Noir: Dahlias have no scent, as the Sephora description mentions, so this is inspired by fantasy and imagination. This is another yin-yang fragrance in terms of the masculine packaging and sandalwood and cedarwood notes, yet complementing the feminine rose, peach, vanilla and pink pepper notes.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy: I'm not a huge fan of super-duper sweet, but this hits the spot for me. Every time I am at Ulta and taking a whiff, I am wanting more and more. I mean, who can deny the adorable packaging with a pink ribbon and its own gold necklace? I mean, this is also really a girly scent with wild berry, mandarin, honeysuckle, gardenia, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline. Yum! Perfect for warm weather months too!
CHANEL Coco Eau de Parfum: This is another one I have sampled at Ulta, which was love at first sniff. It was strong, spicy, and earthy. This isn't as popular as Coco Mademoiselle or CHANEL No. 5, so I can't seem to find what notes it contains. Nevertheless, the link on the Sephora states has reviewers stating that it makes them think of "hot cider, chilly weather and cashmere sweaters" or "polished nails, perfected hair, stunning makeup, and a women who is a force to be reckoned with". Think of Beyonce. I agree that this is more appropriate for cooler months, which is why I am waiting to buy it on my birth month in October (which will give me 2x the amount of Ulta points all month), or get it during the Ulta 10x points offer.
CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle: A delicate, more floral version of the one I mentioned above, this one has bergamot, orange, jasmine, rose, patchouli, vetiver, white musk and vanilla. I have not smelled this yet but I know I would like this one, and it may end up being a potential wedding scent. I am just not sure if I should get the actual Parfum or Eau de Parfum. I am leaning towards the actual Parfum, despite being $190 for 0.5 oz.
Victoria's Secret Heavenly: When I think of a Victoria's Secret angel perfume, I think of sexy, soft, floral yet so clean. The bottle is shaped line a womanly curvy body just like the VS angels, and it is a warm fragrance (just how I like it!) with white musk, sandalwood, vanilla and white peony.
Abercrombie and Fitch No. 1: This takes me back to the days when I was in high school from 2003–2007, and Abercrombie and Hollister were all the rage. I would go in the store and was hit with their signature Fierce cologne, loud techno music and dark lights. The No. 1 Eau de Parfum isn't as pungent as its more popular, masculine, version, but it does contain white pepper, tangelo and peony, matching Abercrombie's clean-cut style.
Do you guys have any of these perfumes?
