So as promised, here are the Swatches of the three lip products I purchased from Chi Chi cosmetics this week. Hope you enjoy!
First up is 'Social Climber' in the tube it looks like a Reddish/Coral Pink with subtle orange hues. It's a matte finish and like all of Chi Chi's lipsticks has that lovely almost Turkish Delight scent to it.
Here's how it swatches. Very similar to how it looks in the tube. It swatches very smooth and creamy, easy to apply
and doesn't 'drag' on the skin like some other lipsticks do.
Here it is on the lips:
As you can see it's very pigmented and matte without looking to dry. The colour looks a lot darker on the lips than in the tube or in a swatch and I actually really like it more than I thought I would!
The second and last lipstick I got was in the shade "Sex Bomb". This is the one I was most excited to try.
A friend of mine claims it as her 'Holy Grail' of lipsticks so I had to try it for myself.
It's described as Dusty Pink Brown. To me, In the tube it looks a little more like a 'corally' baby pink with a subtle brown hue.
When swatched, the colour is completely different. It's definitely as described, a dusty rose/brown shade, very smooth and creamy which makes it easy to apply like Social Climber was. It had more of a subtle purple hue to it as well which gave it a nice cool tone. This lipstick is also a matte finish.
Applied, it's definitely not as light as I thought it was. The colour is beautiful a really light purpley/brown dusty rose colour. Perfect for work or day time shopping.
These lipsticks are definitely the most pigmented 'Drug Store' lipsticks I have ever used. This lipstick is thick and creamy, applies so smooth and dries matte without being drying on the lips and looking cakey.
Now best till last; The Creamy Liquid Lipsticks in shade 'Flirt'
These are basically as described on the tube, they apply like a lipgloss but feel creamy and thick like a lipstick and look like a lipstick on the lips too. I absolutely love the formula the texture is so smooth and creamy.
The colour is a quite similar to the lipstick 'Sex Bomb' it's a light dusty rose brown and has subtle purple hues. My favourite thing about it is definitely the lip brush. It's longer than most lip brushes are and it's shape is flat and rounded on the end so it applies really easily with the shape of your lips.
These liquid lipsticks really remind me of Giorgio Armani's 'Lip Maestro' which I absolutely love.
Here it is swatched. A really lovely rich pigmented colour and applies extremely smoothly and creamy. The colour looks as it does in the tube, a rosy brown tinted pink.
The one thing I would fault and this is just personal preference is the scent. The lipsticks have a lovely mild rose scent but this one is a very heavily perfumed strawberry scent. Everyone else I know that tried it really liked the scent but I just found it a bit too strong and sickly. Luckily once applied you can't smell it so it definitely did not put my off using it.
On the lips it looks so similar to Sex Bomb so I do wish I had purchased a slightly different colour in either the lipstick or the liquid lipstick, but they're a totally different formula so I'll still use them both.
The colour looks slightly more 'purpley' than pink when applied and stays shiny while wet for a while before it turns to a nice matte lipstick look.
Over all I'm really happy with what I got from Chi Chi and I 100% recommend them to anyone on a budget or not. My favourite product was the Liquid Lipstick and I will be purchasing more shades for my collection. I'm really impressed by the quality for the price on the product and the packaging as well especially with the lipsticks.Above you can see my MOTD wearing 'Flirt' the liquid lipstick. As you can see it pairs really nicely for a neutral, light smoky eye.
