Yes, it got to me. You know that product that intrigues you every now and then when you see it, but you really don't need it, so you don't buy it - until one day you do. This is that type of product. Marketed as a multi-tasking "wonder-balm" of sorts, I had a feeling it would work nicely to - at the very least - alleviate dry spots on my hands or around my nails, and it does - kinda. So, for the curious out there who always wanted to find out how this £1 product performs - here, is a review just for you ...
How does "wonder balm" work on the ...
Lips: similar to vaseline once, warmed on the lips its loses its thick consistency and becomes more oily. I wouldn't say it's supremely moisturising but it works. Personally, I dislike the petrolatum taste/smell but it's bearable.
Skin: creates a great barrier on the skin, again not necessarily moisturising but dry grey spots patches will be made shiny which is good but it isn't what I would deem to be "nourishing".
Nails & Cuticles: I think it does it best on the nails around the cuticles to create a barrier, I like massaging it on my nails/eponychium area after using nail oil or moisturising hand cream to "seal" in the moisture/oil. I think it works great for this.
My Overall Verdict: It's okay - I'm pretty sure I won't be swayed to pick it up again for its "wonder balm" qualities but as a nail/cuticle oil sealer, maybe.
