A Simple Afternoon Out

I had a great time out at a film.  I was really happy when I came out and if I could have typed the blog post there and then it would have been magic.  You would have heard about a fabulous film I saw and it would have just taken a few words to tell you.   But I didn't.

Anyway, I got home from the film and in order to deviate because by now I needed to deviate I took  the car to fill up with petrol and didn't get enough and kicked myself because the gauge only went up to three quarters and not  full.   I had to pay 136.9 for it and miscalculated.

I can talk about the film now.

The film was terrific and the best I have seen this year.   That is saying a lot.   I have not checked the filing cabinet of my mind.

My favourite film     A film needs a story to follow, important,  point number one.  Something  that is not stupid that you can understand, sets the scene,  to identify with even if you wouldn't be doing whatever it is yourself.   Like here this was mums and kids and school and one mum and a  vlog about cooking.  I can relate to vlogs because I blog.   You don't have to see me  here which is the difference between a vlog and a blog, which is probably for the best.  Then the film needs thrills and  surprises and  suspense,  This had murder, thrills, surprises, suspense,  revenge.   Then it needs a good soundtrack.  This had it.  In French.  I have no idea why.    Finally no fidgeting, no looking away, no covering the face,  one bottle of Fanta,   no looking at my phone, no  bother by anyone or anything.  Lost in the world of film.

The film was called A Simple Favour and starred Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and Henry Golding.  (I liked Henry Golding in this loads more than when I saw him in the Crazy Rich Asians a few days ago).    I did see the trailer to the film a few times but didn't really think I would like it.  I talked to a young boy on the train on the way up about The Nun because he was going to see it.  I glowed like  I was a film expert for a nano second.     He asked what I was going to see.   I told him,   I  explained I wasn't sure that A Simple Favour would be any good but there was nothing I wanted to see that I hadn't already seen.  The Odeon has 14 screens.   He agreed with all those films and  he only wanted to see The Nun.     I wanted to see him again later to tell him I was wrong about the film  because it was a great film after all.   But he wasn't on my train.
